Dance for Fun began in the fall of 1995 at the Recreation Center. Our classes are designed to meet the dance needs of children, and offers an environment where an emphasis is placed on self-esteem and personal development in a structured learning environment.
Dance teaches lifelong skills, helping students to build confidence, strength, organization, and most of all, discipline.

Join us for our Fall Open House on August 10, August 17, and August 24 at the Chanhassen Rec Center from 6-7:30PM
Stop by the Chan Rec. Center and learn about the Dance for Fun program, meet our instructors, get fitted for shoes, and browse our deals on pre-owned shoes. This is a great way to be introduced to the City's dance program and learn the Dance for Fun difference.
Classes are offered for ages 18 months to 18 years and range from 30 to 90 minutes, depending on age and skill level. Everything from beginner programs through competition teams are offered. Come dance with us!
Students are required to wear proper dance footwear. New shoes may be purchased through the instructor at the first lesson or at the Open House. Used shoes are available to purchase from other parents at the beginning of the fall session.
Girls should wear leotards with tights or other dance wear, and boys should wear sweatpants and a t-shirt. If you have questions, call the Recreation Center at (952) 227-1400 for more information.
