Disc Golf
Overview
The Chanhassen Disc Golf Course officially opened on Tuesday, June 5th, 2012. The course is located at Bandimere Community Park, 9405 Great Plains Boulevard and features 9 holes and a practice basket spread out over a varied topography of hills, woods and open fields. It is a recreational course with dual white (2400 feet) and red (1990 feet) level tees tucked into the park alongside ball fields, wooded areas and a walking trail. A small pond comes into play on holes 8 & 9.

The City will continue to work on finishing touches, cleaning up tee areas and fairways. Future improvements will include the installation of cement tee pads, additional seating and landscaping.

History

Eagle Scout candidate Mark Nettesheim of Chanhassen and his volunteers contributed much of the work by assisting with brush clearing and installation of the Mach 5 baskets and red and white tee locater plates. City parks crews provided additional labor and coordination required to open the course. Master Course Designer Chuck Kennedy designed the course along with his good friend Lyle Jensen. Mr. Kennedy has designed or assisted in the design of over 100 public and private disc golf courses.
