Absentee Ballots

You may vote by absentee ballot if:
  • you are going to be absent from the precinct on election day
  • illness or disability prevents your going to the polling place
  • religious discipline, religious holiday or observance prohibits your attendance at the polling place
  • you are an election judge in another precinct
  • Eligible emergency declared by the governor or quarantine declared by the federal or state government

Absentee ballots for the Primary Election will be available beginning Friday, June 25, 2010.

Absentee ballots for the General Election will be available beginning Friday, September 17, 2010.

You can apply for an absentee ballot and vote in person at the following locations:

Click HERE to print an application for an absentee ballot and instructions on how to fill it out and return it to the Carver County Taxpayer Services Department. Apply early so you will have time to receive the ballot and mail it back before election day. If you have questions about absentee voting, contact the Carver County Taxpayer Services Department at 952-361-1910.

If you are in the armed forces or residing outside the United States, you may vote by absentee ballot using the address where you last lived in Minnesota. A special application form is required, which you may obtain from the Carver County Taxpayer Services Department at 952-361-1910 or from the voting assistance officer in your military unit. Your parent, spouse, brother, sister or child at least 18 years of age may also request an absentee ballot for you.
