The City of Chanhassen is seeking student bands from Chanhassen High School, Chaska High School, and Minnetonka High School to participate in a musical showcase! This event will feature a total of 10 local bands that will compete in a professional show in front of friends, neighbors, and peers for a chance to play future concerts. Application forms must be received by 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 and are available by clicking HERE or at the Chanhassen Recreation Center or City Hall.
All bands must be students from one of the three high schools listed above. Each band's performance must be free of offensive language, behavior, or displays. Each school will have a select number of bands involved in ChanJam '10. The City of Chanhassen has the right to refuse any band, for any reason deemed in the best interests of the city and the event. Winning bands will be determined by a panel of judges based on stage presence, musicianship, soloists/singers, and audience reaction.
The winning band will receive invitations to open for Casablanca Orchestra at Chanhassen's annual 4th of July Celebration on July 3rd, and at the Minnesota State Fair on the Music Mayhem stage. The runner up will receive an invitation to perform at the Minnesota State Fair on the Music Mayhem stage. All participating bands may be invited to perform on July 4th in Chanhassen's 4th of July Celebration.
