Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Permit
Nondegradation Assessment
The City of Chanhassen is required, in accordance with their National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Phase II permit, to perform a Nondegradation Assessment. This assessment is intended to address changes in stormwater runoff volume, total suspended solids (TSS) and total phosphorus (TP) loading in the City of Chanhassen since 1988. The assessment also needs to predict how these parameters will change as the City develops through 2020. Data collected from this assessment is to be used to identify changes and revisions to the Best Management Practices within the existing Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) to return to 1988 or better conditions for each parameter.
