Public Works is comprised of the Street Maintenance, Sewer and Water Utilities, and Fleet Maintenance departments.
Street Maintenance
The Street Maintenance Department is responsible for maintaining more than 108 miles of local streets within the City. Primary maintenance activities include snow removal, ice control, street sweeping, crack sealing, pothole patching, small overlays, tree trimming, storm sewer cleaning, storm pond cleaning, street light and traffic signal maintenance, traffic sign installation and maintenance, and pavement marking. Sewer and Water Utilities
The Sewer and Water Utilities Department provides safe potable drinking water and reliable sewage disposal for businesses and residents, and operates and maintains the City’s 11 wells, 4 storage tanks and 30 lift stations. The system consists of over 122 miles of water main and over 110 miles of sanitary sewer trunk lines. For more information on the following topics, click on the links below:

Fleet Maintenance
The Fleet Maintenance Department provides in-house repairs and preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment owned by the City. The Department maintains 91 vehicles (cars, pickups, plow trucks, fire trucks, etc.), 90 off-road pieces of equipment (tractors, loaders, dozer, grader, mowers, bobcats, etc.), 14 snowplows and wings and 11 sanders.
