Environmental Commission

NEW!

The Chanhassen Environmental Commission is looking for a youth commissioner (age 16-18) to serve a one-year term on the commission starting this fall.  The student will join the 7-member commission to work on natural resources issues that affect Chanhassen.  The commission meets once a month and focuses on providing environmental education to the public.  Applications are due by Sept. 19, 2021.

Overview

The purpose and responsibility of the Environmental Commission is:

  • To address issues that affect the City's natural resources
  • To advocate the benefits and necessity of Chanhassen's natural resources
  • To bring a comprehensive perspective to environmental issues
  • To provide environmental education to the public
  • To provide the residents of Chanhassen with opportunities to improve the quality of their environment

Meetings

  • 6:00 pm
  • Second Wednesday of every month (no meeting in August)
  • Fountain Conference Room - lower level Chanhassen City Hall
