Each year, the city invites local 5th grade students to participate in the Arbor Day Poster Contest. Based on a new annual theme, the posters are submitted by the schools and the winner is chosen by the Environmental Commission and approved by the City Council. Any 5th grader who is a resident of Chanhassen may submit a poster for consideration.
The winner and honorable mentions are presented with their awards at the April 22nd City Council meeting.
Posters should exemplify the theme "Trees are Terrific...And Save Energy!" and can be made in marker, crayon, watercolor, ink, acrylic, colored pencil or tempura paint and may not be larger than 11x17. The student's name and contact information should be written on the back of the drawing. The deadline to enter posters is 4:30 pm, Wednesday, March 13, 2019. Posters can be dropped off at City Hall.
